The jazz festival is green!
For the second year, all the vendors of the jazz festival will use 100% biodegradable cups, plates, and silverware. What looks like “regular plastic” is actually made from cornstarch or potato starch. There are no styrofoam products, and all organic materials will be diverted from the landfill and composted back into soil. One, two, three, SORT! Please sort your trash at the festival. Here is a picture of the eco-stations you'll find on site. Each eco-station has four clearly marked containers. Know what you have and dispose of it properly. ALL food service supplies and ALL food scraps go into the compost containers provided.
Plastic bottles and aluminium cansDispose of all plastic containers, plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Do NOT drop glass bottles in these bags. CompostablesDispose of all food scraps, vendor food serviceware, napkins, paper towels, and soiled paper. The plastic items here are not made of fossil fuels but are made from cornstarch, potato starch or wheat gluten and are compostable. Dispose of all publications, office paper, paper bags, flyers, newspapers, and small cardboard. Trash onlyThis goes to the landfill.
